Lucknow:
Atul Kumar will be the new DGP and Manjeet Singh the new Principal Secretary Home for the state of Uttar Pradesh.
The move follows the Election Commission directions on Saturday, asking the Uttar Pradesh government to remove the state's home secretary and the police chief.
The announcement was made by Bahujan Samaj Party general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra. He said that the poll panel had asked for the removal of Principal Secretary, Home, Kunwar Fateh Bahadur Singh and Director General of Police Brij Lal, following complaints by opposition parties that the two senior officials had a partisan approach favouring the Mayawati government.
