Thane:
Nine people were killed when an under-construction building collapsed today in Thane near Mumbai, according to the police. 44 others were injured.
Some people are still reportedly trapped under the debris and rescue operations are on. Around 30 people have been rescued, the police said.
A team of the National Disaster Response Force and hundred policemen from Mumbai have been sent to the spot.
The incident took place in Shil Dhaigar locality in Thane at around 6.30 pm.
Some people were allegedly living illegally on some of the floors of the under-construction building.
