A fire broke out Monday within the Indian Institute of Technology campus here. A cylinder blast too was reported on the premises.
The fire broke out inside a hostel room on the the third floor.
Five fire engines were rushed to the spot. "We received a call around 11.25 am. We have sent five fire tenders to the spot. No injuries have been reported so far," an official said.
The fire was brought under control within an hour. The cause of the fire is not known yet.
