Mumbai:
Two real estate agents have been arrested by city police for their alleged involvement in the rape of a minor girl in suburban Mumbai.
"Mohanchand Shyam (45) and Satyanarayan Gupta (45) were arrested on Sunday evening from suburban Powai for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl," police said.
The victim had last week lodged a complaint at suburban Powai police station alleging that she was raped on several occasions by four to five persons.
The case came to light after the girl turned pregnant and delivered a baby at a suburban hospital.
Apart from the two arrested accused, FIR also includes an unnamed senior police
inspector.
During probe, it was revealed that Arun Borude, senior police inspector of L T Marg police station, was involved in the crime.
While Borude has been untraceable since the FIR was lodged, his lawyer Vaibhav Bhagade had said he would seek anticipatory bail this week.
The police had last week arrested one Shanta Gaikwad for allegedly providing minor girls for prostitution to a house, where she was employed as domestic help.
