President Pranab Mukherjee will visit Vrindavan tomorrow to lay the foundation stone for building Lord Krishna's 'Chandrodaya' temple, which is planned to be thrice the height of 72.5 metre-high Qutub Minar.
The "bhoomi pujan" of the site was done by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav earlier this year. Work for the Rs 300-crore project will start after laying of the foundation stone tomorrow.
The temple project is expected to be finished in the next five years, organisers of the project said, adding, funds had been collected from various corporate houses and devotees of Lord Krishna.
Mr Mukherjee will visit Vrindavan tomorrow to attend the 'Anantha Sthapana Puja' at Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir. He will also visit the 'Bankey Bihari Mandir' on the same day before returning to Delhi, a statement issued today by Rashtrapati Bhavan said.
The 'Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir', which is conceptualised by devotees of Bangalore-based International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), will have a height of about 210 metres.
The Bankey Bihari temple in Vrindavan is amongst the holiest and most famous temples of Lord Krishna in the country.
The organisers will also be attempting to re-create entire ambiance of when Lord Krishna was born, besides running a visual 3D show of "Krishna Leela," especially for foreign tourists.
