A senior citizen was raped and murdered alleged by her help in South Delhi
New Delhi:
An 81-year-old woman was allegedly raped and killed at her home in an upscale South Delhi locality by her help, who burnt the body to pass it off as a fire accident.
Neeraj Saki, 21, has been arrested for the murder of the woman, who employed him 10 months ago.
On Monday evening, Saki allegedly reported a fire in the Greater Kailash home that the woman shared with her daughter.
Firemen found the woman's partially burnt body in the bedroom with the air-conditioner still on.
"The woman's body was found on the bed with a burnt dupatta around her neck," said a police officer. Her daughter was not present at the time.
The police initially believed the help's version that it was an accidental fire.
When doctors noticed marks of strangling on the woman, the police started suspecting Saki. When they returned to question him, he reportedly confessed.
Saki told a court today that he raped his employer, strangled her with his hands and then set her blanket on fire.
