Dimapur:
In what looks like a massacre, at least nine decomposed bodies were recovered from Pachaspur area near Dimapur in Nagaland on Friday night.
The nine bodies, lying in a pile on top of each other, were recovered with their hands tied to their backs.
A senior police official said the victims must have been killed around two weeks ago.
"All the bodies have clear bullet entry and exit wounds in the skull. We are investigating the incident," VZ Angami, Superintendent of Police, Dimapur said.
The victims were blindfolded and shot from close range, police said, adding that none of the bodies have been identified yet.
Pachaspura area is about 13 km from Dimapur, the main commercial town in Nagaland, bordering Assam.
The bodies have been kept in mortuary at Dimapur district hospital for autopsy. "We will publish the photos so that people can identify them," Mr Angami said.
