Hyderabad:
In Andhra Pradesh, a priest has been arrested on charges of rape and murder after his domestic help - a 16-year-old - died of serious burn injuries at the Guntur General Hospital.
Ajay Babu, a priest with the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church, had reportedly promised his maid that he would marry her. He then allegedly began having sex with her. When she began pressing for marriage, he revealed that he was already married and has a child.
During a fight that followed, the police say, the priest, assisted by his wife, set the maid on fire.
Mr Babu counters that the teen set herself on fire and he was trying to rescue her which is why his hands are severely burnt.
