Purulia, West Bengal: Days after the chit fund business of the Saradha Group went bust, leaving thousands of depositors in West Bengal bankrupt, a second investor has committed suicide.

35-year-old Tapan Biswas, a resident of Balrampur in Purulia, had invested around Rs 4 lakh in a scheme of the Saradha Group. He hung himself last night.

His wife says he had been feeling low for the few days.

On April 21, a 50-year-old woman who had deposited Rs 30,000 with the Saradha Group had set herself on fire.

Saradha's chief, Sudipta Sen, went missing for days and was arrested from Kashmir earlier this week. While he was underground, he sent a letter to the CBI, listing 22 politicians and influential people of "misusing" him to make money. Included on the list are senior and national-level leaders.

He accused two Trinamool MPs, Kunal Ghosh and Srinjoy Bose, of exploiting him financially. Both have denied the charges. Their boss and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has denied that her party had links to Mr Sen.

Meanwhile, employees of Saradha Group today filed a second police complaint against Kunal Ghosh, alleging that they are not been paid their salaries. (Read: Saradha workers file another police complaint against Trinamool Congress MP Kunal Ghosh)
