Bangalore:
The Lokayukta special court will take up the bail plea hearing of former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa in the land denotification case.
Yeddyurappa moved the court for bail complaining about alleged irregularities in denotification of land. 14 alleged benami holders for his family members are also accused in the complaints.
In the last hearing, defence counsels argued that there was strong political motive in the case file against him.
Mr Yeddyurappa was forced to resign as Chief Minister of Karnataka on July 31 when a report on mining declared him guilty of accepting kickbacks from companies who were given mining licences.
Karnataka's former Lokayukta, Justice Santosh Hegde, had filed several reports that suggested Mr Yeddyurappa misused his public office fairly often to benefit his friends and family.
His prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act - on criminal charges - was sanctioned by the Governor, HR Bhardwaj.
