Legendary Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan died of a heart attack early Wednesday morning at his home in Mysore. He was 59 years old.
He was regarded as one of the most versatile and talented actors in the Kannada film industry and was a major force along with Raj Kumar. He has almost 200 movies to his credit and is survived by his wife and 2 daughters.
Schools and colleges in Bangalore will remain closed today as a mark of respect. Hundreds of his fans have gathered at his house in Bangalore to pay homage to their hero.
Vishnuvardhan's body is being taken to the National College Grounds, Basavanagudi, to allow his fans to have a glimpse.
Vishnuvardhan ruled their hearts for nearly four decades.
