Kasna:
A youth armed with a country made pistol seen standing close to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was detained on Wednesday night at Kasna police station in Uttar Pradesh.
The identity of the youth, who appeared to be in his twenties, is not known yet. He was present among the crowd of people standing close to Rahul Gandhi who was taken to Kasna police station after being arrested at Bhatta Parsaul, the epicentre of farmers' agitation against land acquisition by Uttar Pradesh government.
Gandhi had gone to Bhatta Parsaul to express solidarity with the farmers.
The youth was later handed over to the Special Protection Group personnel guarding Gandhi.
