Fringe group disrupts AAP leader Prashant Bhushan's press conference

Vishnu Gupta has been wanted by police in Uttar Pradesh since last week for allegedly being part of the group of people who vandalized the party office in Ghaziabad near the home of its founder, Arvind Kejriwal.

However, the Ghaziabad police admitted today it had not shared this information with its counterpart in Delhi. (AAP office vandalised, Prashant Bhushan blames BJP)

So, Mr Gupta caused chaos at Mr Bhushan's meeting with reporters and then left the venue.

The right-wing fringe group he is affiliated to says that it wants to punish Mr Bhushan for saying that he believes the people of the Kashmir Valley should be consulted about whether the Army should be posted in the region. (Row over Prashant Bhushan's remarks)

Mr Bhushan did not name the BJP today but hinted that it is tacitly supporting public attacks and protests against his party because it's unnerved by the Aam Aadmi Party's surging popularity. "The incident shows the desperation and culture of bigger parties like the BJP and the Congress," said Mr Bhushan.

He had stressed last week that his comment was limited to the internal security of the Kashmir Valley region and that how to guard the country's borders is the prerogative of the union government.

Arvind Kejriwal, the founder of the Aam Aadmi Party, had said that Mr Bhushan's opinion was not in sync with the party's.
