New Delhi:
The price rise storm continues in parliament after a day of disruptions over the Opposition's demand for a debate with vote.
Raising the issue in the Lok Sabha, the BJP remained firm on its demand for a vote. Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj said there was no point in debates on an issue so critical to the common man, unless the government was bound by a motion of Parliament.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also in the House on a day the Congress has issued a whip asking all ministers and UPA allies to be present.
The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned for the day after a united Opposition stalled proceedings for the second day, demanding an adjournment motion.
The BJP and Left were joined by members of the BSP, SP, AIADMK and RJD. But the government countered the Opposition, insisting that question hour be taken up.
