The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till 2:30pm after the BJP created an uproar seeking the recall of the Gujarat governor Kamala Beniwal over the appointment of Lokayukta.
Earlier, the Rajya Sabha today saw two adjournments before noon as the BJP disrupted proceedings demanding the recall of the Gujarat Governor over the appointment of Lokayukta.
Chairman Hamid Ansari took up the first listed question, but as the members were unrelenting, he adjourned the House for 15 minutes.
Similar scenes were repeated when the House met again with BJP members again rushing to the well raising slogans like '
'Samvidhan ka ulanghan nahi chalega, nai chalega (violation of Constitution will not be allowed).''
Members from Treasury benches opposed the slogan shouting by BJP members and asked them to let the Question Hour take place.
When the agitated Opposition members did not heed to the Chair's repeated requests to restore order, Ansari had then adjourned the House till noon.
