New Delhi:
The Supreme Court today took strong exception to social activist Teesta Setalvad writing to UN Human Rights Commission regarding the 2002 Gujarat riots case.
The apex court pulled up Teesta saying, "We don't appreciate a letter being sent to a foreign country, we can't approve it. This shows you have more confidence in that organization than this court. It is direct interference. These outside organizations can't guide us."
The strict observation came while the court was hearing the progress of cases being probed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the Gujarat riots.
Teesta later assured the court that it would not be repeated in the future.
