Varanasi bomb blast: UP govt hits back at Chidambaram

New Delhi: A day after the Varanasi bomb blast the blame game has begun. Hitting back at Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, the state Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar said that the Government cannot pass the blame on the state when it had no actionable inputs to offer.

The remarks were made against Chidambaram's statement earlier in Varanasi where he said that the state ignored key intelligence inputs. (Varanasi blast: Chidambaram blames UP govt)

"Centre cannot pass blames to the states and wash off its hands" said Shashank Manohar at a press conference in Lucknow.

A terror email believed to have been sent by the outfit Indian Mujahideen has been tracked to Mumbai and two people were questioned on Tuesday evening. However, no arrests have been made so far.
