A woman lecturer was allegedly gang-raped by three teachers in Kadi taluka of the district following which she attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison, police said on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old lecturer at Kalol Primary Teachers' College (PTC) was gang-raped. She later consumed poison at Kalol state transport bus depot, police said, adding she was rushed to a hospital where she is still unconscious.
The girl, in her suicide note, said that she was gang-raped by three teachers of government primary schools over a period of few months. The victim's had lodged a complaint at Kadi police station in this regard.
She alleged in her suicide note that Mukesh Patel, a primary school teacher in Narsinhpura village of Kadi, Dinesh Patel, a teacher at Sachana village and Ketan Thakar, a teacher at Bhankoda village primary school, gang-raped her, police said.
The victim further said that accused clicked her photographs in compromising position and used to blackmail her, they said.
The police said that they have detained Ketan Thakar for questioning, while the other two accused were at large.
