Cairo:
Egypt's state news agency says a bomb has targeted a police checkpoint on a flyover in Cairo's twin city of Giza, wounding three police.
It quoted an Interior Ministry spokesman as saying the explosion Friday hit a truck belonging to the Central Security force that was stationed on the flyover.
Egypt has seen a spike in attacks since the military's July overthrow of Islamist President Mohammed Morsi, often targeting police. Many have been claimed by a Sinai-based al-Qaida-inspired militant group.
Last week, a new group calling itself Ajnad Misr, Arabic for Egypt's Soldiers, claimed responsibility for several such bombings.
