Chinese couple takes wedding snaps 88-years after marriage

Beijing: A married centenarian Chinese couple has finally posed for their wedding photos - 88 years after tying the nuptial knot.

Wu Conghan, 101, and his wife Wu Sognshi, 103, married in 1924 and have been together for almost nine decades now.

They always dreamed of having a wedding photo taken, but when they got married there was no option.

Cameras were almost unknown in China when they got married, but their new keep-sakes are something they have dreamed of having ever since, media reports said.

The couple's wish came true after a local photo company offered to help the pair from Nanchong, Sichuan province pose for wedding album shots.

The happy couple dressed in full wedding finery for the snaps - with the blushing bride in a full-length gown and veil - before they looked at their mementoes on a laptop.

The gesture came as part of an initiative in the city that has seen photographers volunteer to help elderly couples obtain wedding photographs they missed originally, the reports said.
