Large tornadoes ripped through parts of Missouri and Illinois on Tuesday, tearing across farmland and knocking down trees.
A tornado was caught on camera touching down in a field in Bowling Green, Missouri, which sent the debris flying in the air.
Similar footage was shot in Carlinville, Illinois.
No injuries were reported from the storms.
Utility crews are scrambling to restore power to tens of thousands of customers in Illinois affected by severe storms that included reports of tornadoes.
More than 35-thousand homes and businesses in central and southern Illinois still were without electricity as of midday on Wednesday in the wake of Tuesday night's storms.
Strong thunderstorms also battered the region and another round of severe weather is predicted for later this week.
