Bhopal:
Two people have died and five others were injured when a wall of a flyover collapsed in Bhopal early morning today.
The accident occurred around 1.30 am when the people were fast asleep on the pavement of the bridge near Bajaria police station.
"Nearly 100 feet of the projected portion of a bridge used by pedestrians collapsed late last night killing those sleeping under it," SP, Bhopal (South) Anshuman Singh told PTI.
A couple identified as 60-year-old Parvati and 65-year-old Hanuman were killed in the incident, the police said. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital.
According to the reports, the bridge is over three decades old and is a major way connecting Bhopal Railway Station's Platform number one and other adjoining areas to the rest of the city.
