Chennai:
The 20 workers at an amusement park near Chennai called Kishkinta were on a break, trying out a ride called the Disco Dancer last evening.
And then the coaches of the giant wheel - like a mega tea cup that tilts from one side to the other - came crashing down from a height of nearly 15 feet.
One person died, and seven others have been injured. The police this evening arrested Josh Punnish, the owner of the amusement park and a manager on charges that include criminal negligence that resulted in death.
The accident took place when the employees were on a trial ride.
The Disco Dancer was among the top draws at the park till last year's floods left it damaged. Last evening's ride was meant to be a trial run before the ride opened to the public.
