New Delhi:
The AAP's student wing on Monday held a 'Tiranga March' here to mark the birth anniversary of freedom fighter and revolutionary Shivaram Rajguru.
"This march is in an honour to Rajguru who gave his life for the nation. He set a path for the youth of the country to follow and stood as an epitome for patriotism," Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti's Delhi unit chief Anupam Yadav told IANS.
He said the march would bring back focus on education, transport, employment and technology to Delhi University.
"Student politics has become synonymous with big money, violence and disinterest in student welfare. #TirangaMarch marks a new beginning," the Aam Aadmi Party said on its official Twitter handle.
"Shaheed Rajguru: Epitome of Indian youth volunteering for societal good. @CYSSIndia to reignite the ideal of national service #TirangaMarch," it added.
Students wearing CYSS caps and holding national flags have been marching from Delhi University to Hansraj College.
Shivaram Rajguru, a revolutionary from Maharashtra, was born on August 24, 1908, and was a part of India's freedom struggle.
Rajguru was hanged in 1931 for his involvement in the murder of British police officer J.P. Saunders in 1928.
