New Delhi:
PM Narendra Modi today attended the opening of the World Culture Festival on the banks of River Yamuna by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living. Addressing the thousands present there, PM Modi said, " If we keep calling ourselves bad, criticise everything, then why will the world look at us."
Here are the highlights of his speech:- I heartily welcome you to the land of India
- India has so much diversity
- The world is not only connected to economic issues, the world can be connected with humanity as well
- India has the cultural legacy that the whole world is looking for
- We can fulfil their demands to some extent
- That is only possible when we take pride and honour in our legacy
- If we keep calling ourselves bad, criticise everything, then why will the world look at us
- I want to thank Sri Sri Ravi Shankar that within 35 years of the mission, it is working in over 150 nations
- The World Culture Festival is like the 'Kumbh mela' of art and culture
- Music to shake the body - the market is full of them
- But to shake your mind, that music is only available in India
- When you are firm with your ideals, you need Art of Living
- When you walk with your dreams, difficult times, Art of Living
- When you live for others and not for yourself, you need Art of Living
- When we move from I to we, we need 'Art of Living'
- We are those people who travel from Aham Brahmasmi to Vasudhev Kutumbakam
- We have travelled from Upanisahds to planets
- This is the legacy given to us by our saints (rishi/muni)
- Through Sri Sri, I congratulate every artist, musician and workers of 'Art Of Living' for giving as positive image of the country and its culture
