New Delhi: A student of Delhi University's Khalsa College today allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of the institution's building.
The 20-year-old, who was pursuing a degree in B Tech, was depressed over her studies, say the police.
"The girl had jumped from the third floor, computer block of Khalsa College. Her family has been informed about the incident. We have recovered a suicide note from her in which she has attributed study-related pressure for the extreme step," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma.
The incident took place around 1 pm and college Principal Jaswinder Singh rushed her to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital.
She is said to be out of danger, but has fractures in her leg and spinal cord.
Though the girl wrote about study stress in the two-page note found by the police, the principal has said that she was a good student; she had scored 75 per cent in the second semester.
The girl lives with her family in Faridabad near Delhi and her father works with a private company.
