With the Ramjanmabhoomi case verdict to be delivered on September 24, Bollywood producer Sajid Nadiadwala has postponed the release of his Priyanka Chopra-Ranbir Kapoor starrer
Anjaana Anjaani.Now, the movie would be released on October 1.
(In Pics: First Look - Anjaana Anjaani)The decision comes in the wake of the film's lead pair, Ranbir and Priyanka opining that audiences may not go to theatres to watch the movie in view of the security concerns.
Talking to the media on Monday, Sajid said initially he was of the opinion that the release should be according to the schedule.
"There is no denying that the Ayodhya issue is a much bigger and needs its respect. Ranbir had addressed the issue with me and Eros and we gave it a thought. Ranbir is of course one of the most looked upon youth icons of our time and his point was a much sensitized and a valid one."

(Special: Anjaana Anjaani)Sajid said the film is a very happy one and celebrates life. Hence releasing it on a peaceful day would be better.
Ranbir was the first to voice his concerns over the film releasing on a day when the verdict pertaining to the ownership title of the disputed site in Ayodhya will be pronounced.
"It is an important day for the country. I hope there is no dispute and the decision is favourable to all. Audiences may not be able to go watch the film on that day," Ranbir had said. Even Priyanka echoed similar views.
