In a ceasefire violation in the Akhnoor sector in Jammu, the Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers exchanged in heavy firing today, say reports.
According to the reports, an intruder, who was attempting to cross the border to enter India, was killed by the Border Security Force near the Sidharvan post in the Akhnoor sector. This was reportedly followed by gunfire exchange between security forces from both sides.
Today's incident comes after a series of recent ceasefire violations at the international border and the Line of Control.
The borders have been extremely tense after a secret tunnel was discovered by the Border Security Force last month. The tunnel, dug at a depth of 25 feet, ran between India and Pakistan at the international border in the Samba sector of Jammu.
