Jamshedpur:
Charging the state government with working on directions from the Centre, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) supremo and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today said the Raghubar Das government has been working as a 'WhatsApp' government working on "messages" from New Delhi.
Criticising the large-scale transfers of officials and bureaucrats after the Das government came to power, he said, "The state government issues notification on transfer posting after getting WhatsApp messages from Delhi."
The transfers were being done 'whimsically' and in violation of norms, alleged Mr Marandi who was in Jamshedpur to launch the party's 'Nyay Yatra' to "expose the government's failure on all front and provide justice to the people".
Besides the transfer, the former chief minister also slammed the Das government for the alleged sugar scam.
He alleged that government was purchasing sugar at wholesale prices at Rs 35 or Rs 36 a kg for BPL families whereas the commodity was available in the market at Rs 26 or 27 a kg.
The Food and Public distribution Minister should explain it, he demanded while endorsing the statement of JMM and Congress that BJP is indulged in such acts to generate fund before the Bihar Assembly poll.
On the 'Nyay Yatra', Mr Marandi said it was aimed at providing justice to the people who are allegedly being cheated by the central and state governments.
On the completion of six-month in power of the Das government, Mr Marandi said the issues he raised speak volume of the government's performance.
Demanding an explanation from the government about the lingering mine lease renewal issue, he said a few industrialists close to the government were given approval.
The government has granted lease renewal to companies like Tatas, Ambanis, Adani, Jindal violating their own cabinet decision but lease renewal of small mine owners are still pending, he claimed.
In fact, the JVM chief alleged, "I have learnt that a huge amount of money was demanded from those small mine owners for approval."
