A cabinet reshuffle may be held in the wake of the BJP's rout in the Bihar assembly elections, sources have told NDTV.
- I wish them (Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar) well for my state and hope they deliver.
- I am at a loss to understand the enormity of the defeat.
- The percentage of vote of Lalu Ji and Nitish Ji has come together very well.
- Only point is I expect today if we are gracious today in defeat, Congress should be gracious in victory, even though it came due to Lalu Ji and Nitish Ji.
- Our tragedy is that if we win, then people say that the communal card worked. If we lose, then some experts say the same card failed.
- We are not an event management company. Our task has just begun (on the alliance standing the test of time).
- We are looking at the larger picture, Bihar wants to lead the campaign.
- This mandate will not be confined only to Bihar.
- We have to analyse from what seats we had in 2010: We contested 243 seats and got only 4 seats.
- We had identified roughly 65 seats where we polled over 10,000 in the last election.
- If you look at results, our strike rate is much higher.
- This accusation that PM held 27 rallies in Bihar has been repeated by the Opposition.
- We have the head of the family who is campaigning, what is wrong in that?
- Tell me a single word that the PM uttered that was unparliamentary?
- Look at the words used by Lalu Ji, but at the end of the day he won.
- Mahagathbandhan tried to rake up some issue in a political way that were not the issues
- RSS and BJP did not want to do away with reservation, but the Grand Alliance portrayed it like that.
We cannot remove caste from Indian politics: JDU's Arun Kumar Srivastava to NDTV
- I think all the BJP leaders actually canvassed a lot.
- Yes, there was no one face to the campaign.
- Grand alliances don't hold for very long because there is actually very little that unites them.
- Alliances tend to be very limited for 2-3 years.
- Let me tell you that Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad had started coming together after the 2014 loss. The process had been on for a year
- We were told we would fail at each step we took, but it went seamlessly
- I concede that Nitish got the benefit of our company of seven years when we together were in power in Bihar
- We were the reasons of good governance in the state
- I can list out several mistakes
- We will listen to our workers and take further decision
- Nitish Ji had said that if he did not improve the situation of electricity in Bihar, he would not ask for votes
- Today, Bihar is getting electricity more than ever before
- There is no anti-incumbency against Nitish Kumar, but BJP raised the stakes very high
- Congress played an important role in stitching the alliance
- Congress said that Nitish Kumar will be the face of the alliance and the RJD joined
- So much anti-incumbency in one year will have repercussions in Assam, Bengal and most importantly UP assembly elections
- We had not gone for a campaign of hatred
- What happened was an aberration
- Let me congratulate the new government
- Unlike UPA, we will treat all states equally and walk the talk on development
- You cannot compare apples with oranges (Lok Sabha vs Assembly)
- Main picture is the right alliance
- We got practically the same vote as in Lok Sabha
- What happened was JDU, RJD and Congress got lesser votes but they were together
