Former media tycoon Peter Mukerjea knew about his wife's plan to dispose daughter Sheena Bora's body after killing her, an additional indictment filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI said yesterday.
Peter and wife Indrani have been accused of killing Sheena Bora, her daughter from an earlier relationship, in 2012. Ms Bora was engaged to Rahul, who is Peter Mukerjea's son from his first marriage. Peter has claimed he was not aware of the alleged conspiracy or murder.
In the supplementary chargesheet filed in the case on Friday, the CBI said it has given further proof to implicate Peter's involvement in the case. Both Peter and Indrani are in jail awaiting trial.
"Further investigation has revealed that Indrani Mukherjea kept Peter Mukherjea informed on the phone about the selection of place for disposal of dead body of Sheena during the period of reccee and selection of spot on 23.4.2012, that is on the day of murder," the CBI said.
Details of mails shared between the family members had also been attached in the chargesheet.
In 2015, Ms Bora's body was found charred in a forest near Mumbai. The police says that she had been abducted by her mother, her driver, and Indrani Mukerjea's first husband, Sanjeev Khanna.
