PM Modi is on a five-day visit to US
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi who landed in the US on Friday has been described in the New York Times as " a juggernaut of political social media." (Read the New York Times story here)

The article, titled "Narendra Modi: The Social Media Politician", offers this advice: "American politicians seeking to do well on social media may want to take note: one of the world's best will be in New York this weekend," and praises Mr Modi's strategy "to use social platforms to bypass traditional media outlets and reach supporters directly."

On Saturday, Mr Modi will address the UN General Assembly in New York. On Sunday, he is expected to draw perhaps the largest crowd ever by a foreign leader on US soil when he takes the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden for an audience expected to total more than 18,000 people.

Thousands more are expected to pack New York's Times Square to watch his address in Hindi on big screens.

The Prime Minister will meet President Obama on Monday at the White House; his talks with US officials will last through Tuesday.
