Raosaheb Danve is a fourth term MP from Jalna

Raosaheb Danve, currently the Minister of State in the food ministry, has been appointed as the new state President of the BJP in Maharashtra.
Though the appointment is on expected lines, the official announcement comes more than three months after its outgoing state President Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister, the first from the BJP in the state in October 2014 at the Wankhede Stadium.
Raosaheb Danve is a fourth term MP from Jalna and was considered close to the late Gopinath Munde. He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1999 and subsequently in 2004, 2009 and 2014. He has also served two terms as MLA in Maharashtra.
Mr Danve, who represents the powerful Maratha community, hails from backward region of Marathwada.
