Bahraich:
The body of a 15-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree on Saturday after she was gang-raped in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich. She had gone missing from her village on Friday. Two men have been arrested.
The girl's family says she was kidnapped from Nanpara, 160 kilometres from capital Lucknow, by three men of the same village.
One of the accused was known to the girl and had allegedly asked her to meet him.
He was joined by two more men. They allegedly raped and killed her and later hanged her body from a tree to make it appear like a suicide.
A manhunt has been launched to track the third accused, the police said. Four constables have been suspended for failing in their duties.
Senior police officer Salik Ram Verma said a post-mortem has confirmed that the girl was raped and strangled.
