A day after the monsoon hit Mumbai, commuting in the city was hellacious, with angry residents posting complaints on Twitter.
For the second day in a row, trains were running late.
Local trains on the Central Line, which connects important parts of the financial capital like the main terminal Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to suburbs like Kurla, saw one-hour delays. Some trains were cancelled.
In Thane, also serviced by the Central Line, passengers protested on the train tracks at the Diva station. Flooded tracks at at least five spots and the engine failure of a train at the Dadar station also added to the delays.
A taxi strike made things a whole lot worse. Commuters vented on social media.Yesterday, the local train services of were disrupted for nearly an hour following power failure caused by theft of a battery box at Mahim station.
