Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the BMC Control Room to take stock of the situation in Mumbai.
Mumbai:
On a day which began with parts of Mumbai submerged in thigh-high water, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis promised that updated advisories will be issued every two hours to the city.
"Don't go near the sea... don't go out unnecessarily," said Mr Fadnavis, who visited the Control Room of the city's Municipal Corporation.
Flights to and from Mumbai are running at least 30 minutes late; the city's famous local trains were stalled on the Harbour and Main Lines; all schools were shut. "Some trains are halted... we will have them running soon," said the Chief Minister.
The Met department has warned that heavy rain will continue for the next 24 hours.
