An entertaining and starry match of football ensued for Delhiites on Sunday evening, where Members of Parliament clashed with Bollywood stars. The exhibition match, held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, was organised by Adhunik Art Gallery, headed by Bollywood actor Priyanka Kothari, and was kicked off by an enthusiastic Baba Ramdev. The match proceeds will go to the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Andolan and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
"I played for the opponent team before. But this time I have told the actors, who are more fit than us, of course, that we are playing for the country. You should too. It should be hashtag respect. I have also promised the referee life-long supply of Patanjali products," said Team MP's captain, Babul Supriyo, all geared up to lead his side to victory.
However, the match ended with Team Bollywood lifting the cup with a score of 10-0.
"I support both the politicians and the actors. Baba doesn't take sides," said Ramdev at the beginning of the match, after trying to score a goal unsuccessfully quite a few times.
The team of politicians was led by Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, and also saw names like BJP leader Manoj Tiwari. Abhishek Bachchan was the captain for the Bollywood team, that included Ranbir Kapoor, Dino Morea and Shabbir Ahluwalia, among others.
