How do you think a child would react to the idea of hitting a woman? In a society that is plagued with many crimes against women, how would boys under the age of 11 react when asked to slap a girl standing in front of them?
In a social experiment conducted by Fanpage, seven-year-old to eleven-year-old boys were introduced to a young girl named Martina. They were then asked to say what they liked about her. "I like her eyes," said one, while another said he'd like to be her boyfriend.
The boys were then asked to gently stroke the girl's face or arms, followed by making funny faces at her. All the boys gladly obeyed the instructions which resulted in some awkward yet beautiful smiles.
Just then, the same boys who hope to become fire-fighters and soccer players and policemen were asked to slap her.
How do you think the kids reacted? All we'll say is that this social experiment done right teaches us a powerful message on violence against women and humanity.
