Seven years after they split their father's business empire, the Ambani brothers, Mukesh and Anil, were seen together for the first time at Chorwad, a costal village of west Gujarat, to celebrate their father's 80th birth anniversary on December 28.
Chorwad is the birthplace of their late father, Reliance group founder Dhirubhai Ambani, a schoolteacher's son, who was born there on December 28, 1932. -
The family gathering, seen by many as a reunion between the billionaire brothers, will be presided over by matriarch Kokilaben Ambani.
In 2005, the two brothers had entered into a family settlement to divide the Reliance Empire with the help of mother Kokilaben. While Mukesh retained the energy business, Anil took control of telecommunications, infrastructure, financial services and power verticals. -
The house is the same place where the renowned industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani, spent his childhood. It has been converted into a memorial which consists of a photo gallery, a section of the old house and an auditorium which will screen a film on Dhirubhai's life.
