The first day of Durga Puja 2014 kicked off with a bang. To take part in the grand festivities, we ventured out to see what Delhi had planned. Our first stop was CR Park and what a sight it was. More than 6 elaborate pandaals spread out through the area, each with its own food and drink stalls.
We started with the biggest one at Mela Ground. According to Mr.Shekha Guha, one of the organisers, 'The mela ground setup is the biggest set up in North India. We get over 10,000 people on a daily basis and the response gets better every year.'
He added, "The magnificent idol is a result of weeks of hard work. Artisans are flown in from Kolkata and work day and night to perfect this symbol of beauty."
