The Kardashian dresses that Kate Middleton wouldn't wear

More than a few eyebrows were raised when Kim Kardashian declared Kate Middleton her fashion inspiration recently. With her penchant for distinctly flashy, cleavage-popping outfits, the reality star was deemed an unlikely admirer of Kate's immaculate, classic style. But it seemed that Kim really was a fan of Britain's best dressed royal. The Kardashian sisters, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, sent the former Miss Middleton some dresses from their new collection for Dorothy Perkins.

However, the world is not to see Kate in a dreebie Kardashian dress. Not yet. The dresses were politely declined and sent back. And with reason. It would be hard to pick even one suitable dress for the elegant and understated Kate from the Kardashian Kollection.

This backless dress might be just the thing to show off the famous Kim posterior, but it's hardly a garment one would expect the future Queen of England to have in her wardrobe.

A source close to the Duchess of Cambridge told a publication: "Kate is hardly going to turn up for an event with the queen in a cheap leopard-print miniskirt or gold sequined jacket."

The reality star set pulses racing when she appeared in a racy red dress from the Dorothy Perkins range, showing her cleavage in London recently. But it didn't convince the Duchess to give Kim's fashion credentials a public boost as she had hoped.

Kim Kardashian's divorce from husband of 72 days Kris Humphries has not been finalised yet but the reality star is likely to soon have another ring on her finger.

Kim and family have signed a $40million deal with the E! Network for three new seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, making the deal the richest contract in reality TV history.

The seventh season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians is due to begin on May 20.

Kim Kardashian and new boyfriend, rapper Kanye West, were spotted holding hands for the second night in a row when they walked the red carpet together at the Seventh Annual Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner hosted by Chanel at the Odeon Restaurant in New York City. The night before, they had attended the opening ceremony of Scott Disick's new restaurant RYU.

Kanye, 34, has won the approval of 31-year-old Kim's family with her mother Kris Jenner said to be "thrilled" about their romance.

Kim was born on October 21, 1980, in Los Angeles to attorney Robert Kardashian and wife Kris. Her first brush with fame was of the more unsavoury kind when an old sex tape featuring Kim and ex-boyfriend, rapper Ray J, was leaked in February 2007.

Vivid Entertainment bought the rights to the tape for $1 million and released the film as Kim Kardashian: Superstar. Kim sued Vivid for ownership of the tape and settled out of court for $5 million in April that year.

Kim first starred in the E! television series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians in October, 2007 with her two sisters Kourtney and Khloe, mother Kris, brother Robert, half-sisters Kendall and Kylie, and stepfather Bruce Jenner.

Kim co-owns various clothing lines - 'D-A-S-H', 'K-Dash' and the 'Kardashian Kollection' - with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. She also owns a fragrance line launched in 2010.

The three Kardashian sisters have also designed jewellery in the past.

Kim was briefly married to basketball star Kris Humphries and previously to music producer Damon Thomas for four years. She married Kris in a lavish made-for-TV wedding but filed for divorce just 72 days later citing irreconciliable differences.

Kim has also dated R&B singer Ray J, NFL star Reggie Bush, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin and model Gabriel Aubry in the past.
