Over 1800 child labourers were rescued in Tamil Nadu's Erode district last year
1,859 child labourers were rescued in Tamil Nadu's Erode district last year, a senior official has said.
"Last year, 1859 child labourers were rescued in the district and of them 833 had been admitted to 28 special schools for education and others to regular schools," Labour Welfare Commissioner P Amudha said.
Speaking at the national Child Labour Project review meeting here, she said parents should stop sending children below 14 years to work.
