Chennai: Nine people have died and one person is severely injured in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul district after a van collided with a tanker early on Friday morning.
The victims were returning to Aravakurichi in Tamil Nadu's Karur district after a recreational trip to Kodaikanal.
The man who survived the head-on collision has been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the tanker is safe.
Police said that the tanker was in its lane. They suspect that the van driver may have dozed off while driving. Investigations are currently under way.
