Tamil Nadu government has declared a seven-day state mourning from July 27-August 2, both days inclusive, as a mark of respect to former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
Quoting a union government decision in this regard, an official communication from the Chief Secretary said in Chennai that during the period, the national flag will fly half-mast on all government buildings throughout the state.
There will be no official entertainment, it said.
It said the state government expresses grief over the passing away of Dr Kalam.
