Kedarnath Pilgrimage Put On Hold After Part Of Trek Route Caves In, Thousands Stranded

The pilgrimage to Kedarnath by road was put on hold on Saturday after part of the trek route caved in near Jungle Chatti leaving thousands of pilgrims returning from the Himalayan temple stranded.

All 550 people, who were left stranded in Jungle Chatti yesterday - located between Gaurikund and Rambara in the Kedarnath axis - have been evacuated, rescue officials have told NDTV. Search operations are being conducted now to check if anybody has been left behind.
