Bharti chases MTN amid talk of rival bids
As Bharti Airtel gets closer to putting a formal bid for taking a controlling stake in South Africa’s MTN, analysts feel that Bharti should go for a joint bid rather than going it alone. After wooing the CEO of MTN, Bharti's top management is approaching the promoters of Invextcom, the Mikati family, who now hold about 10 per cent stake in MTN.
