Commerce Ministry decries US farm subsidies
Elections in America cost big bucks. The money that partly decides who will be President grows in the farming heartland of America, which survives on heavy subsidies from the government and flushes it back into the political system. This is not a loony conspiracy theory. It is a serious allegation made by India's commerce ministry that big corporate farmers in the US dictate its policies at the WTO because they control the purse strings to America's political parties.
