DDA's monopoly set to end
Fifty years after it was set up, the Delhi Development Authority's (DDAs) role is set to undergo drastic changes that will end its monopoly as a builder. Central government's unhappiness with the DDA's record was voiced on Wednesday by the Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken who stated that it was mainly because of the monopoly of the DDA that there was a shortage of more than six lakh houses in Delhi.
