Government considers ban on maize export
On a day when inflation touched a 13 year high, the government is considering to ban the export of a few commodities, to curb their sky-rocketing prices. "We might ban a few commodities whose price may increase because of speculations in the market," said GK Pillai, Commerce Secretary. This time maize is in the line of fire. The Cabinet of Secretaries, is scheduled to meet next week, to decide on ban of maize exports.
