IRDA determined to change LIC Act
Proposed amendments to the LIC Act might become a reality. The insurance regulator IRDA has made a strong pitch for the LIC Act to be amended along with the Insurance Act. Banking Secretary has told NDTV that finance ministry is examining various amendment proposals. If for some reason India's largest insurer, LIC ever goes bust, there will be no bailout from the government.
